"Of my own thoughts it is folly to speak. Swooning, I staggered to the opposite wall. For one instant the party upon the stairs remained motionless, through extremity of terror and of awe. In the next, a dozen stout arms were tolling at the wall. It fell bodily. The corpse, already greatly decayed and clotted with gore, stood erect before the eyes of the spectators. Upon its head, with red extended mouth and solitary eye of fire, sat the hideous beast whose craft had seduced me into murder, and whose informing voice had consigned me to the hangman. I had walled the monster up within the tomb!"

Not poppy, nor mandragora,
Nor all the drowsy syrups of the world,
Shall ever medicine thee to that sweet sleep
Which thou owedst yesterday.
I don't think I've ever seen someone capture Edgar Allen Poe in such a fantastically dark and stunning way :D
It's just so striking visually, with the cat lurking over the head of the poor downtrodden looking figure, and then you really look at it you get all the inside messages that are hinted at in the poetry ...

I'm just totally in love with ALL of your work...

Yeah, I read that story.
Is this an illustration. Because, if it is, there are a couple of details missing.

X_x... but I read the story about one year ago... and I don't care about missing things... I'm just practicing using charcoal...

Oh, okay
...
Charcoal does need a lot of practice. Dang difficult medium.
